Jab We Met

The High School Years

We didn't meet in a train, but it all started at a high school open mic when we were 14. Viraj strummed his guitar with some friends and Isha sang her new favorite song - Ghagra. Freshman Isha met Viraj through one of her first friends in high school. Here's an interesting twist: Viraj took Isha's yearbook photo for the Orchestra page - the first of many moments he'd capture, including her master's graduation photos a whole decade later. Destiny, much? Little did we know, high school wasn't even our first meeting - the universe had already introduced us years ago at the same elementary school!

Jab We Met (Again!)

8 Years Later

While Isha was away at college, Viraj learned classical vocal music from her dad - a sweet Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam twist to our story. Fast forward: Viraj was crushing it as an embedded software engineer by day and learning the ropes of DJ-ing on weekends. Isha was living her dream working as a software engineer at Disney+ (peep the Disney-themed font all over our website!). Even with her childhood dream fulfilled, Isha's heart was always in robotics. Isha took a leap of faith, leaving her dream job to pivot to autonomous robotics and pursue a master's degree. It was during this bold new chapter that we reconnected. Sparks flew over the nerdiest things: the intricacies of C++, memes, and - of course - singing our favorite Bollywood and Garba songs together. Who says nerds aren't romantic?

Discovering A New Passion: Photography!

2023

With Viraj's job well under way and Isha now a double Wolverine with her master's degree complete, we were ready for our next adventure. We bought our first professional cameras and launched VIPix Media - our own photography and videography company! The best part? We even went back to take photos at our old high school's culture show. Call that full circle!

Building New Things in 2024!

2024

2024 was a year of building new and cool things. Isha finally walked across the stage at commencement (in-person this time!) and stepped into her role as a robotics software engineer. Viraj hit his four-year mark at Actalent and spent time building new things - be it audio and lighting systems for businesses or automation around his house.

Dancing the Night Away!

2024

Viraj turned every weekend into a celebration, DJ-ing and sound engineering everything from intimate gatherings to grand weddings. Meanwhile, inspired by Viraj's brother Ravij (a competitive Bhangra dancer!) to get back into dance after several years, Isha joined Furteelay Academy's dance classes, learning about Viraj's Punjabi side along the way!

2024

Our most exciting time was being creative together during our favorite season: Navratri! Isha took the next step in her Garba journey and sang Raas & Garba live for hours at a time, Viraj joined on drums and sound engineering with her mom and dad's team, and Eera (Isha's sister) brought her own magic on the keyboard!

With all our side quests, we redefined work-life balance for ourselves: work hard, enjoy a LOT more. From trying different restaurants to cooking tons of Indian food (and yes, we even burnt some cookies along the way!), we relished every moment. Listening to Diljit while making Pani Puri even brought us all the way to Diljit's concert!

We're Engaged!

2025

In May 2025, we got engaged! From childhood acquaintances to soulmates, our journey has been filled with music, code, cameras, and a lot of memes. Now, the best chapter begins and we couldn't imagine celebrating without all of you who've been part of our story. This June, let's make it a celebration worth remembering!
